    I have a 5 year old on ski team, who shows potential. Trying to decide which skis/bibdings/boots to buy for next season. Currently he’s on Elan Jerr100 w/Elan bindings & Dalbello boots. But he races SL, GS, (Has done a Super G & a couple Gelande too). I’ve been told Elan 110 or 120 for the flex, but others have advised me to get a multi sport race ski around 115cm. He is super tall 47-1/2”, but very light at only 46 lbs.

    would love to know how it was determined the 157 SL ski should have a 10mm plate? Nordica it seems put the 14mm plate on both their 165 and 157 length skis. Does more lift on the 157 length make the ski turn a tighter radius? I'm contemplating adding 4mm shims to the 10mm plate. I hope to hear from you 🙂

    In determinate condizioni meteo, o di terreno, si vieta lo scialpinismo, oppure si valutano come irresponsabili escursionisti e alpinisti che, comunque, frequentano la montagna. Qui invece va tutto bene? Il dio denaro fa scomparire tutti i crepacci e la totale assenza di neve. Ma fateci il piacere.

    I turn 14 this winter and am competing as a u14. I’m in the Midwest of the USA and we ski on short icy runs.Last season I got around 30th/ 60 overall and my coaches are always saying the only think keeping me from top 10 is my confidence and being scared of the gates since I carve perfectly outside the gates. Im also very scared of failing in front of all of the people watching. Any tips for intermediate racers struggling with confidence and anxiety?

    • @camillelindblade416
      @camillelindblade416 5 місяців тому

      Honestly just go for it and trust yourself. I think anger part of confidence is your inspection of the course. Being able to ski through it in your head reminds me that I’m very capable of skiing it well, hope that helps:)

    You guys are incredible. Pushing out the starting gate of one of your downhills I just cannot imagine. No way not me. How in the world you shove out gates (Streif) I’ll never know? My friend told me that the ROAR when you guys go past is truly unbelievable. He also said you guys fly thru the air for longer than our ski hills are here. Unreal.

    I also said this on the other video, but the bidirectional "scrubbing" with the brass brush at 8:30 goes against many brush manufacturers' recommendations. It's a particularly bad idea if you have a recent Red Creek or Swix brush in which the bristles are tilted such that they're designed to trail in one direction. The usual advice is to use metal brushes tip-to-tail only, and always with the brish pointed the same way (the direction marked on the brush if it has tilted bristles, or just some consistent direction otherwise). All others (horse, boar, nylon, etc) can be used in a scrubbing motion.

  • @patrickchase5614
    @patrickchase5614 Рік тому

    Eek, bidirectional brushing with steel as at 8:00 is a big no-no, especially now that a good number of newer metal brushes from Red Creek, Swix, and others have "tilt" built into the bristles such that they're only designed to run one way. Even with old straight-bristle metal brushes the bristles gradually deform with use and become tilted over time, and you should keep them always running in the saw way to avoid having them "stab into" the base. The first thing I do with every brass or steel brush is mark arrows for direction. Everything else here is spot-on though IMO.
